Introduction to Kayak - Instructor:

Proficiency Requirements:

Ability to teach and model basic strokes at the accepted standard in general purpose kayaks

Ability to teach and model basic rescues

Possess good overall teaching ability

Demonstrate group leadership skills, experience and judgement necessary to be safe, effective instructor for the ACA

Aware of the design characteristics and safety factors of a wide range of kayaks

The Eskimo Roll is NOT REQUIRED

A proficiency of 70% or more is required in each of the categories being evaluated, in order to receive certification.
